National Coordination Meeting of Federal and Provincial SDGs Support Unit was held in Lahore, in which all teams reflected for their performances and brainstorm to formulate the way forward on implementation of SDGs localization agenda. Federal SDGs Support Unit, shared that approval of National Framework on SDGs from NEC, the highest government policy approval authority is a key milestone in the journey of localizing SDGs in Pakistan. The National Framework gives a roadmap for prioritization of national sustainable development goals that will help policy makers and decision makers to develop plans, policies and allocate budget in line with the national priorities to address the utmost needs on urgent basis in terms of policies and plans development and resource allocations whereas middle and later level priorities will also be addressed side by side as some of those are on track or required very less attention. Federal Secretary, Ministry of Planning Development and Reform, Mr. Shoaib Ahmad Siddiqui said while addressing the teams that nation is looking towards us for better policies, people centric development plans and implementation of Global Agenda in the form of Sustainable Development Goals. It is now our duty to accelerate our progress in localizing the Sustainable Development Goals and to do it the federal and provincial governments are there for all kind of support.
