Early warning systems (EWS) are extensive systems that integrate different components of disaster risk reduction for the provision of timely warnings to minimize loss of life and to reduce economic and social impact on vulnerable populations. The program aimed to prepare the target community to reduce the vulnerability and mitigate the impact of disasters. The project goal was to install seven community-based Early Warning Systems (EWS) in selected villages of the two provinces (Bamyan and Takhar) as EWS enhance the preparedness level of the community and country to take appropriate action in the wake of any natural disasters.
